A solar panel can pass through five or six pairs of hands before it reaches your roof. Each link adds a mark-up and loses some of the information: which factory the batch comes from, when it was produced, who is responsible for the warranty. With a direct importer the chain is short and the information stays complete.
Nectaria Solar imports solar panels, inverters, batteries and mounting structures directly from manufacturers. We install them for our customers and distribute them to other installation companies across Romania. Below we explain what this means for you, whether you are a homeowner or an installer.
A panel's journey: the long chain and the short chain
| The usual long chain | The short Nectaria chain |
|---|---|
| Manufacturer → importer → distributor → reseller → installer → customer | Manufacturer → Nectaria (import, warehouse, installation) → customer or partner installer |
| 4–5 commercial mark-ups | No intermediaries |
| Batch and warranty information gets lost along the way | We know the factory, batch and serial numbers of every pallet |
| When there is a problem, the customer has to go through every link | We deal directly with the manufacturer |
6 advantages of buying from a direct importer
1. Fair prices, with no intermediate links
Every intermediary needs its own margin. When the goods come directly from the factory, by the container, the intermediate mark-ups disappear. That is why we can sell top equipment at decent prices, both to end customers and to installers.
2. Traceability for every pallet
We know where each batch comes from, when it was produced and which serial numbers it contains. This matters at acceptance, for warranty claims and for any complaint. A product without a clear history is a product nobody takes responsibility for.
3. A recognised warranty and a direct relationship with the manufacturer
The warranty on a panel or an inverter is worth as much as the company that honours it. Because we work directly with manufacturers, a service issue doesn't get lost in a chain of resellers. We know whom to write to and how to follow up until it is resolved.
4. We know the latest developments in the industry
Our direct relationship with the factories shows us early on which new panel generations are coming, what is changing in the datasheets, which models are being discontinued and where problems are appearing. We don't learn this from announcements; we learn it from the source. This way we recommend current products, not leftover stock.
5. Real stock in Romania
We keep the goods in our warehouse in Alba Iulia: panels, inverters, batteries and structures. You can pick up immediately or we deliver on pallets across the country, and our own projects start without waiting months for a container.
6. Components that work together
Because we import all the main components of the system (panel, inverter, battery and structure), we choose them to be compatible with each other. We don't randomly combine whatever happens to be cheapest at a given moment.
The part nobody talks about: rejected batches
Being in direct contact with manufacturers and with Europe's major distributors, we also see the offers that never make it into catalogues. Batches of panels and equipment circulate on the market at very low prices, for example:
- downgraded batches, or batches rejected at acceptance by other buyers because of defects or non-conformities;
- old stock, stored for years in unknown conditions;
- products sold through channels the manufacturer doesn't recognise, for which the warranty is no longer clear.
Some of these batches are bought and resold in Romania, and on paper they look like any other panel. We know about them and we avoid them, even when they are discounted. We could earn more on each pallet, but it would be at the expense of quality, and the customer would pay the difference a few years later, in lost production and service call-outs. We have written about what cheap equipment really costs in the article Cheap to install, expensive to service.
How we choose the brands we import
- A track record in demanding markets. We choose products that have been sold for years in very demanding markets such as Germany and France, where installers and customers don't forgive quality problems.
- Real service. What matters is how quickly the manufacturer responds to a request, not just what the warranty certificate says.
- Verifiable results. The AIKO and LONGi panels we use come from the two brands with 25% efficiency series-production panels that jointly hold first place worldwide in the TaiyangNews ranking. We also sell DMEGC and Gokin panels, chosen by the same criteria. For inverters and batteries, we are an official Hinen distributor and import directly.
- Our own experience. We install what we sell ourselves. If a product gives us problems on our own projects, we stop selling it to installers as well.
What this means for the end customer
You get the same top equipment we use in our industrial projects, installed by an ANRE-certified team, with one company directly responsible for the whole system. We install a 3–12 kW residential system in a single day.
What this means for installers
Installation companies that buy from us get the same products we install ourselves, from our stock in Alba Iulia, with three price tiers: Standard, PRO and Partner. Current prices excl. VAT are shown in the top bar of the website, under "Businesses and installers". We help with component compatibility and technical documentation.
How to recognise a direct importer
- It has physical stock in a warehouse you can visit.
- It can tell you exactly which model, batch and serial numbers you will receive.
- It can explain who honours the warranty and how a claim is made.
- It can deliver large quantities, by the pallet or by the container.
- It knows the datasheets in detail and can recommend the right generation for your project.
