Huawei: a very good system for a matching budget
Huawei is a choice we recommend to customers who want a very good PV system and are prepared to allocate a generous budget. The investment should be viewed as a whole: SUN2000 inverter, LUNA2000 battery, FusionSolar monitoring and the equipment required for backup power. It is the complete configuration that determines what you will be able to do with the energy you produce.
At Nectaria Solar, we start from your grid connection, consumption and goals. Do you want to use more energy in the evening? To see the energy flows in your home? To keep certain circuits powered when the grid goes down? The Huawei range offers solutions for these needs, and the right choice is made on specific models and combinations.
SUN2000: the family name does not tell you every function
In our shop you will find both residential inverters and versions for larger projects. For homes, examples include the Huawei SUN2000-10KTL-M1 and the 3 kW three-phase version from the M1 family. In the commercial segment you can look at the 50 kW Huawei SUN2000-50KTL-M3.
These models do not automatically share the same battery and backup functions. The codes L1, M1, MAP0 or M3 designate different families. When you choose from the collection, we help you match the product to the requirements of the installation, without attributing to the whole range a function documented for only some of the models.
For example, the current SUN2000-5/6/8/10/12K-MAP0 family is presented by the manufacturer with storage and backup power together with SmartGuard. This architecture needs to be discussed separately from systems based on M1 and the Backup Box.
LUNA2000: modular storage, chosen together with the inverter
LUNA2000 batteries allow you to build a modular system in the supported combinations. In the S1 range, Huawei uses LiFePO₄ technology and specifies IP66 protection. For the commercial 7/14/21 configurations, the usable energy is 6.9/13.8/20.7 kWh. The values and combinations are described in the official LUNA2000 S1 specifications.
For you, battery capacity should be tied to the consumption you want to cover and the power you need. A bigger battery is not the only possible answer: the inverter it works with, the supported configuration and the way you use energy also matter.
The official S1 list includes models from the L1, M1, MAP0 and other families, listed individually. We check the exact combination proposed. This way the system is chosen as a whole, and expansion is discussed within the limits of the respective architecture.
Backup Box and SmartGuard: important differences
Huawei offers dedicated solutions for switching over to backup power. The Backup Box-B0 is paired with compatible L1 models and provides single-phase backup. The Backup Box-B1 is used with the M1 models listed in the datasheet; although the grid connection is three-phase, its backup output is single-phase.
According to the official Backup Box datasheet, the B0 allows a maximum of 5,000 VA on backup and the B1 a maximum of 3,300 VA. Switchover takes less than 3 seconds. You need to know these values before choosing which circuits will stay powered.
For newer compatible systems, SmartGuard-63A-T0 together with MAP0 supports single-phase and three-phase loads on the backup output. The manufacturer states a switchover time of no more than 20 ms with the fast function enabled. The power actually available still depends on the inverter, the battery and the loads.
That is why a requirement such as “I want three-phase backup” should be stated from the outset. We propose the right combination and define the circuits to be powered, rather than assuming that any SUN2000 inverter and any switchover box will deliver the same result.
FusionSolar: see how your energy flows
FusionSolar provides monitoring of production, the battery, energy flows and alarms. It is a useful part of the system for anyone who wants to follow how the installation is performing and understand how they use energy.
To display household consumption and the exchange with the grid, the appropriate meter is required. Panel-level visibility requires optimizers. These requirements are explained in the official FusionSolar manual. When we configure the system, we specify what data you will be able to see with the equipment included.
Optimizers are chosen for your panels
In compatible configurations, Huawei optimizers can provide module-level optimization and monitoring, as well as rapid shutdown. Their benefit should be assessed in relation to your roof and the panels used.
We check the electrical compatibility and the panel's rated power against the optimizer specifications. The choice is made for the actual combination of equipment, so that the investment serves a clear purpose in your project.
Who we recommend Huawei to
We recommend Huawei to those who want a well-integrated ecosystem, monitoring and a carefully chosen configuration for storage and backup. It is a very good solution, with a budget that needs to include all the components required for your goals.
Nectaria Solar helps you compare the options and define the configuration. We carry out residential installations in Alba, Sibiu, Cluj, Hunedoara, Bistrița-Năsăud, Bihor and Mureș. For commercial projects of at least 50 kW, we work across Romania.
