Solplanet: a brand we recommend especially for commercial projects

Solplanet is a good choice for residential use, but at Nectaria Solar we recommend it especially for commercial projects. This is where we install it most, and we are very satisfied with our experience with this equipment. If you are preparing an installation for an industrial hall or a business building, it is worth discussing this option alongside your project.

Our recommendation is based on our installation experience and the available range. Behind Solplanet is AISWEI, a manufacturer with a track record in the inverter industry and ranges covering both homes and larger commercial installations.

Who makes Solplanet and how it relates to SMA

Solplanet is AISWEI's international brand. The company's history includes a period when its Chinese operations were owned by SMA. In 2019, SMA completed the sale of these companies to local management, as confirmed in SMA's official presentation for the first quarter of 2019.

In an official Solplanet presentation from 2021, the company mentions its manufacturing experience for SMA since 2017 and for Zeversolar since 2013. This is a relevant track record of manufacturing for other brands.

For you, this experience provides context about the brand. The choice is then based on the current product, its functions and the configuration of the installation. At Nectaria we propose the model that suits the project, with its own identity and specifications.

What the rankings say about the manufacturer's scale

AISWEI is among the major inverter manufacturers, but rankings should be read with their respective year and segment. For 2024, AISWEI's press release citing Wood Mackenzie states 1st place in global residential string inverter shipments, 3rd place in the commercial and industrial segment and 6th place globally in total shipments.

For commercial projects, the figure that matters most is 3rd place worldwide for commercial and industrial inverters, based on 2024 shipments. This is exactly the segment in which we install Solplanet most often.

For Nectaria, these data complement our practical experience. The commercial recommendation remains tied to the power range, the layout of the PV array and what we need to achieve in the project.

The right range for industrial halls and commercial buildings

Solplanet offers several three-phase families, so the choice can be adapted to the power of the installation. For the lower power range, the ASW LT-G2 Pro family includes 15, 17 and 20 kW versions. For larger projects there are the 25–40 kW ASW LT-G3 and the 45–60 kW ASW LT-G3.

In the high-power range, the 75–110 kW ASW LT includes 75, 80, 100 and 110 kW models. These are distinct families, each with its own specifications. We choose the number and power of the inverters in the context of the whole project, without starting from the assumption that a single large unit is always the right solution.

Why MPPT inputs matter

MPPTs track the operating point of the connected panel groups. In design, the way these groups are organized is linked to the roof configuration and the electrical characteristics of the panels. That is why the number of MPPTs is one of the pieces of information we analyse when choosing the inverter.

In the 75–110 kW ASW LT family, the manufacturer's datasheet specifies 8 MPPTs for the 75 and 80 kW models and 10 MPPTs for the 100 and 110 kW models. You can consult the official datasheet for the family. The difference shows why the exact model matters, even within the same range.

We do not choose the inverter solely by the power stated in its name. We check how the panels are connected, the input limits and the configuration we intend to install. This matching is part of the design we discuss with you.

Features and monitoring for operation

The commercial ranges presented offer IP66 protection and app-based monitoring, according to Solplanet's documentation. These features complement the choice of power and inputs. Depending on the model, the manufacturer also allows the PV array to be sized up to 150% of the rated power, within the electrical limits of the equipment.

We check the specifications of the chosen family and the combination with the proposed panels. As an example, the LT-G2 Pro datasheet sets out the limits specific to that series.

How Nectaria helps you choose

For a business, the discussion starts with the site and consumption, then moves on to the power and configuration of the PV array. We recommend comparing complete solutions in which the equipment is chosen for the conditions of the project. You can start from our inverter collection, and together we will determine the right Solplanet option.

Nectaria Solar, operated by NECTARIA PROIECT SRL from Alba, installs commercial projects of at least 50 kW across Romania. For residential projects, we work in Alba, Sibiu, Cluj, Hunedoara, Bistrița-Năsăud, Bihor and Mureș. Solplanet remains a good option for homes too; our strongest recommendation, however, is in the commercial segment, where we use it most.
