Fronius, a premium choice backed by Nectaria
If you want a premium PV system and have a generous budget, Fronius is one of the brands we recommend. Nectaria Solar works with Fronius inverters and is a Fronius service partner. For you, this means that the conversation about equipment can continue with installation, configuration and technical support, all within the same relationship with our team.
Fronius is an Austrian brand, and the manufacturer confirms in its official declaration of origin that the Primo GEN24 and Symo GEN24 families, including the Plus and SC versions, are manufactured in Austria. Our recommendation, however, concerns the system that is right for your project: the inverter model, battery compatibility and the functions you need.
Primo or Symo: the choice starts with the grid connection
In the GEN24 family, Primo is the single-phase version and Symo is the three-phase version. The choice is not made by the better-known name, but by the electrical installation and the requirements of the home. A well-chosen system takes into account the loads you have now and how you intend to use energy.
GEN24 Plus has its battery functions activated at purchase. GEN24 without Plus needs the UP.storage upgrade to activate them, with availability depending on the country. The difference is explained in the official GEN24 and GEN24 Plus documentation. When we prepare the configuration, we establish from the start whether you want storage now or the option to add it later.
This step helps you compare equipment with the same functions. Two inverters bearing the Fronius brand may have different purposes and integration options. The full model designation is the information we need for an accurate recommendation.
Fronius with BYD Battery-Box Premium batteries
For storage, the Fronius GEN24 Plus can work with BYD Battery-Box Premium HVS and HVM, in the combinations specified by the manufacturer. Not every capacity is supported by every inverter. We use the official Fronius compatible battery matrix to select the combination.
For example, for the Primo GEN24 Plus, the matrix includes HVS 5.1 and 7.7, as well as several HVM versions. For the Symo GEN24 Plus, the HVS family also includes the 10.2 and 12.8 configurations. HVM 8.3 does not appear as a compatible option for GEN24 Plus in the matrix consulted. That is why a seemingly similar capacity is no substitute for checking the model.
Nectaria helps you choose the right combination and include the necessary components. We want you to know what capacity you are getting, what power the system can deliver and what expansions are planned. Up-to-date software and the availability of the combination for the local market are part of this integration.
Backup is designed together with the system
If you also want power when the grid goes down, tell us before the equipment is chosen. Your home may have loads that you want to keep powered as a priority, and this requirement must be translated into the electrical configuration.
An inverter capable of working with a battery does not mean, simply by being installed, that the whole house will automatically have backup power. During design we define the circuits, the switchover equipment and the limits of the system. Fronius's GEN24 guide is the starting point for the functions and configurations of this family.
For you, the outcome should be easy to understand: what stays powered, in which configuration and with which battery. These answers matter more than a general statement about a “backup-ready” inverter.
Do you already have an on-grid Fronius?
An existing on-grid Fronius may be worth keeping when you want to add storage. For certain compatible models, there is an AC coupling solution with a Victron inverter/charger, a battery and a GX device. The architecture is described in the official Victron guide to Fronius integration.
In the shop you can look at, for example, the Fronius Eco 25.0-3-S and the 10 kW Fronius Symo. These on-grid models are discussed separately from the GEN24 Plus family; whether a battery can be added depends on the chosen architecture. For this situation, also read Nectaria's guide to Victron and upgrading a Fronius.
Monitoring and support after installation
Fronius offers the Solar.web platform for monitoring via browser and app. In suitable configurations, several inverters can appear in the same monitored installation. You can check production and follow the system's operation in one place, with the necessary equipment and connections.
When it comes to the warranty, the terms that apply to the product matter as much as its duration. Fronius's terms distinguish Warranty Plus coverage from Warranty and require proper registration. We explain these differences together with the proposed model.
As a Fronius service partner, Nectaria can combine the installation perspective with the operational one. We recommend this brand to those who want a premium solution and allocate the right budget for the whole system. We carry out residential installations in Alba, Sibiu, Cluj, Hunedoara, Bistrița-Năsăud, Bihor and Mureș, and for commercial projects of at least 50 kW we work across Romania.
