A good PV mounting structure shows in the way the whole assembly works: the profile stays stable, the clamps hold the frame correctly, and the fixings transfer the loads to the supporting structure. At Nectaria Solar we also use aluminium structures from a Polish factory that sells across Europe. It is a solution we choose for the quality of its components and for the ability to build a coherent installation adapted to your roof.
European origin is a useful reference point, but our decision goes beyond the country of manufacture. What matters to us is the right profile, compatible accessories and the way all of them will work together on the building.
Why aluminium is suitable for PV mounting structures
Aluminium combines low weight with the ability to produce precisely shaped profiles. The nut channels, bearing surfaces and profile geometry can be designed so that installation is practical and repeatable. For you, this means components that fit together and an assembly that can be installed neatly, without improvised adjustments on the roof.
Another advantage is corrosion resistance. Aluminium forms a protective layer on its surface, and this behaviour makes it useful in outdoor applications. The operating environment and contact with other materials still matter. The properties described by Hydro explain why the material is used where weight, durability and recyclability are important.
The low weight helps with handling and limits the structure's contribution to the load on the roof. The panels, the structure and climatic actions must nevertheless be checked together. A lightweight rail may have an efficient geometry, but its capacity is determined for the span between fixings and the actual loads.
Quality starts with the profile and continues with the joint
Two profiles may look similar in a photograph and behave differently once installed. Wall thickness, cross-section shape, material and the spacing between supports all influence stiffness. That is why choosing a structure is not simply a matter of the length of rail needed to lay out the panels.
The joints are just as important. The rail connector must suit the profile, the nut must work in the channel it was chosen for, and the clamp must match the module frame. An accessory that physically fits into a profile is not enough to confirm the compatibility of the whole assembly.
In our shop you will find, for example, the tile roof profile, the profile connector and the click-in mid clamp. These pages help you identify the components; the selection for a specific job takes into account the complete system and the panels used.
What we install at Nectaria
We use the aluminium structure manufactured in Poland in the roof solutions for which its components are suitable. We choose the profile, fixings and clamps according to the roof covering, the supporting structure and the panel layout. For you, the advantage is that the discussion starts from your actual roof and ends with a bill of materials that makes sense as a whole.
On a house, the position of the load-bearing elements and the condition of the roof covering matter. On a commercial building, the available area, access and the layout of the PV array also come into play. The same base material can be used in different solutions, and the fixing remains the essential link with the building.
Fasteners are chosen according to their role and the operating environment. The aluminium of the rails can work alongside stainless steel components or other materials specified by the system. We check this combination, including the contact areas and how sensitive points are protected.
The roof determines the mounting solution
On a tile roof, the fixings must carry the loads to the supporting structure. On a metal roof, the geometry of the roof covering and the substructure determine the solution. On a flat roof, waterproofing, load distribution and panel layout come into play. These differences explain why we do not recommend a single package of profiles for every building.
The design takes snow and wind into account, as described in the Eurocode on actions on structures. In practice, this translates into fixing distances, the number of supports and a configuration suited to the site. The quality of the material is realized through correct placement and fixing.
What to look for when comparing quotes
Ask for a clear statement of which profiles, clamps and fixings are included in the job and which supporting structure they are intended for. Check whether the connectors and accessories appear in the quote and whether the solution matches your roof. A complete list is more useful than a general description such as “aluminium structure included”.
You can start from our mounting structure collection. Nectaria Solar, the brand of NECTARIA PROIECT SRL from Alba, makes sure the selected materials turn into a careful installation: correct support for the panels, suitable joints and access for later inspections.
