For a business, a farm or an industrial hall, choosing energy storage starts with two questions: how much energy needs to be stored, and how much power needs to be supplied. The KSTAR portfolio makes it possible to consider configurations of 107 kWh with 50 kW, 215 kWh with 100 or 125 kW, and a solution of around 261 kWh paired with a 125 kW PCS. The exact configuration must be determined for your installation.

One documented advantage is the integrated switching between grid and backup on the standard KAC125DP2. This function can eliminate the need for a dedicated external STS for the unit's own switching. Who KSTAR is

Shenzhen KSTAR Science & Technology was founded in 1993 and has been listed in Shenzhen since 2010, under the code 002518. The company's history includes UPS and critical power equipment. A UPS is equipment designed to maintain the electrical supply when the normal source is interrupted. Official KSTAR profile.

For you, this history is a reference point about the manufacturer. The actual quote must separately specify the battery, the conversion equipment, the backup mode and the applicable documents.

kWh and kW: two values that are not interchangeable

Capacity in kWh expresses the stored energy. Power in kW describes the level of supply the equipment can sustain within its limits. A large cabinet does not by itself guarantee that it can start and power any load. For backup, both values must be matched to your loads.

PCS stands for power conversion system: the equipment that manages the electrical conversion between the battery and the installation. In the configurations below, the PCS power must be read together with the battery model and the proposed schematic. We do not determine an industrial hall's autonomy solely from the nominal capacity stated on the cabinet.

KSTAR configurations you can consider

107 kWh with a 50 kW PCS

The official Romanian-language documentation identifies the BC107DE2 battery, at 107.52 kWh, and the KAC50DP2 PCS, at 50 kW. The commercial designation of 107 kWh is a rounded figure. 215 kWh with a 100 or 125 kW PCS

For another capacity level, the BC215DE2 battery, at 215.04 kWh, can be paired with the 100 kW KAC100DP2 PCS or the 125 kW KAC125DP2, depending on the power you need. Both belong to the same KSTAR equipment family. The choice over the previous system depends on the consumption profile and the purpose of the storage, not just on wanting a bigger battery. The cabinet of around 261 kWh and a 125 kW PCS

Backup included: the exact advantage of the KAC125DP2

An STS is the static transfer switch that allows changeover between grid operation and backup supply. The KAC80–125DP2 manual confirms this integrated function and separately identifies the variant with the "-S0" suffix, without STS. So the full code matters when you compare quotes. The updated datasheet declares around 10 milliseconds for switching, under the condition of a single PCS with a purely resistive load, i.e. a simple electrical load without the specific behaviour of motors. The commercial advantage is concrete: on the standard version, that switching function is integrated into the PCS. The designer still checks the switchboards, protection devices and the necessary connections. We compare complete configurations, without promising that the battery and PCS alone take care of the entire installation.

Which projects are worth evaluating for storage

• Industrial halls and businesses with high consumption: when you want to analyse the use of stored energy in relation to your operations.
• Farms: when you need to identify the equipment that requires backup power.
• Reducing consumption peaks: also called peak shaving, i.e. limiting the power drawn simultaneously from the grid by using the battery.
• Installations with backup: when the circuits and loads supplied during a grid outage are defined in the design.

These are areas of application, not a promise of identical savings for every business. For the analysis, prepare your consumption data, existing equipment and a list of priority loads. That way we can discuss capacity and power on the same basis.

The warranty must be read for the configuration delivered

The KSTAR document for the DE2A series with 314 Ah cells provides a five-year product warranty and a ten-year performance warranty, with a defined threshold and conditions. The performance period is not a full warranty on all components for ten years. Official KSTAR warranty.
