The AIKO 650 W is one of the main panels we use in Nectaria systems with installation. We choose it for homes with limited space, where we want as much power as possible from the available area, for industrial halls with sandwich-panel roofs and for ground-mounted systems. With 24% efficiency, it gets more kilowatts out of the same roof.
It is 2.38 m long. That is why we do not install it on flat roofs: there we only use panels under 2 m, such as the LONGi 480 W and DMEGC 515 W. On the pitched roof of a house or the sandwich-panel roof of an industrial hall, the AIKO panel sits parallel to the roof covering, on properly fixed profiles, and its length is not a problem.
Who is AIKO
AIKO is a manufacturer of PV cells and modules, founded in 2009. The company develops ABC technology, from the cell to the finished panel. Its experience in cell manufacturing is relevant because this is where the conversion of light into electricity begins. Read the official AIKO company profile.
In the Nectaria range, AIKO and LONGi are the two main options for complete systems with installation. We do not choose between them by the same rule for every building. The AIKO 650 W is suitable when the geometry allows large panels. The LONGi 480 W comes to the fore when we need a shorter format.
What ABC means: contacts on the back of the cell
ABC stands for All Back Contact. The electrical contacts are located on the back of the cell, so the front side is no longer covered by the metal contact grid. More front surface remains available for capturing light, and the cells have a uniform appearance. AIKO explains ABC technology.
Contact position and bifacial operation describe different things. Back contacts relate to the construction of the cell. Bifacial means the panel can also use light on its rear side. When choosing an installation, what matters is the specific model, together with the way it is mounted.
Efficiency shows how much power the panel can deliver relative to its area, under standard test conditions. Annual yield also depends on orientation, tilt, shading and the electrical configuration. That is why we use efficiency to compare space usage, and then design the system for your site.
AIKO 650 W in stock at Nectaria
In our shop you will find the AIKO 650 W panel, model AIKO-A650-MAH72Mw, with 24% efficiency. It is available in stock. The panel measures 2382 × 1134 × 33 mm and weighs 28.2 kg.
These dimensions require a surface that allows a consistent module layout. The plan must include obstacles, the necessary margins and access for service work. On a roof with limited space, high efficiency delivers more power from the same area.
For the technology background of the two brands, read our AIKO and LONGi guide on 25% efficiency. The AIKO 650 W panel we have in stock has 24% efficiency.
Where we install the AIKO 650 W and why
Homes with limited space
When the roof is small but consumption calls for high power, we choose AIKO. 24% efficiency means more kilowatts on the same area. The high power per panel makes it possible to reach the desired capacity with fewer modules. The final number follows from the layout plan and the electrical design.
Fewer modules mean fewer connections between panels and fewer fixing points. This simplifies installation. The total time, however, also depends on access, the roof covering, the structure and the cable routes.
Industrial halls with sandwich-panel roofs
On sandwich panels, the modules are mounted close to the roof, on profiles fixed to the roof covering. Here AIKO forms regular arrays, with high power for the area occupied and fast installation. Before installation we analyse the roof capacity, the position of skylights, access and the company's consumption.
Ground-mounted systems
On the ground, the large format fits into repeated rows, without the limits of a roof. The choice includes the spacing between rows, the orientation and the structure. See also our guide to ground-mounted systems.
Where we do not install it: flat roofs
On a flat roof, panels sit on tilted structures, held at only a few points. With a panel longer than 2 m, the frame can bend under wind and snow. For flat roofs and flat-roofed industrial halls we use LONGi 480 W or DMEGC 515 W panels. The full comparison is in our guide to the four brands.
Nectaria's experience with AIKO
On an industrial hall in Alba County, Nectaria installed 807 AIKO panels in a project of approximately 520 kWp. The project shows our experience with this brand on a commercial building, from organising the installation to completing the panel array.
Nectaria received an award from AIKO at the AIKO gala at Intersolar München and is an AIKO strategic partner. We have been active since 2011 and are ANRE-certified (C1A, C2A). In our installations we use 6 mm² solar cable and original Stäubli MC4 connectors.
Choose the panel based on the roof
For a small or complex roof, see the compact alternative in our LONGi 480 W offer. If you are considering other options, read our guides to DMEGC for homes and businesses and the Gokin Solar ranges.
See our systems without batteries or systems with batteries. We install in Transylvania and deliver equipment across Romania. Goods can be picked up in Alba Iulia, str. Livezii nr. 35A.
