The LONGi Hi-MO X10 480 W is a panel we install on both homes and industrial halls. It is 1.80 m long, so it also suits flat roofs, where we only use panels under 2 m. Its compact format also helps us place modules between dormers, chimneys and roof windows. It is available in stock at Nectaria.
On a roof like this, what matters is the total power of the panel array that actually fits. A shorter module may allow an extra row or fill an area where a long panel will not fit. The choice is made by drawing both options on the available surface.
Who is LONGi
LONGi is a solar technology manufacturer founded in 2000. The company develops products based on monocrystalline silicon, including PV cells and modules. Hi-MO X10 is one of its families of panels with contacts on the back of the cell. Official LONGi company profile.
For you, the brand's reputation is the starting point. The specific configuration is determined by the model, the dimensions and the installation conditions. In Nectaria systems, LONGi complements AIKO: it gives us a compact solution for roofs where panel length has a big influence on the layout.
HPBC 2.0 in simple terms
Hi-MO X10 uses HPBC 2.0 technology, a LONGi solution with electrical contacts on the back of the cells. The front side has no metal contact grid. This architecture leaves more front surface for light and contributes to the uniform appearance of the cells. LONGi Hi-MO X10 technology presentation.
Appearance can matter when the panels are visible from the garden or the street. We take it into account together with a tidy layout, the colour of the roof covering and the cable routes. The visual result depends on the whole installation, including the gaps between modules and their position on each roof slope.
HPBC 2.0 does not remove the need to analyse shading. A chimney, a tree or a neighbouring building can affect the operation of the PV array. In the design we take into account the position of obstacles and how the panels are grouped on the inverter inputs.
The model in stock: LR7-54HVD-480M
The LONGi Hi-MO X10 LR7-54HVD-480M has a rated power of 480 W and an efficiency of 23.5%. The datasheet for this family confirms the following specifications for choosing the panel and planning the installation:
- Dimensions: 1800 × 1134 × 30 mm.
- Weight: 23.5 kg.
- Construction: bifacial, dual glass.
- Product warranty: 15 years, subject to the manufacturer's terms.
- Power warranty: 30 years, subject to the manufacturer's terms.
These data are given in the official LONGi LR7-54HVD 475–495 W datasheet. The 23.5% efficiency applies to the 480 W version. Other power ratings in the family have different values.
The product warranty covers materials and workmanship, according to the contractual terms. The power warranty describes the minimum power level of the module over time. The annual yield of the installation is estimated separately, depending on the site and the configuration.
Where we install this panel and why
Homes with small roofs and multiple slopes
This is where we often start the analysis with the LONGi 480 W. The 1.80 m length can help fit panels onto short or divided surfaces. We compare how many modules fit on each slope and the resulting total power, while keeping the spaces needed for installation and access.
The advantage is practical: a smaller panel can use an area left free next to an obstacle. Not every space that looks free is usable. Roof edges, fixing positions and shadows that appear during the day all matter.
Industrial halls and buildings with flat roofs
On a flat roof, panels sit on tilted structures, held at only a few points and exposed to wind and snow. With panels longer than 2 m, the frame can bend. That is why, on flat roofs and flat-roofed industrial halls, we install LONGi 480 W or DMEGC 515 W panels. Details are in our flat roof installation guide.
Being bifacial, the LONGi panel can also use light reflected by a light-coloured membrane, when the structure leaves space under the panels.
Tile roofs with difficult access
The shorter format can make handling easier in tight areas. It is useful on homes with limited access or with many changes of roof direction. Weight and working conditions remain important, and transport to the installation position is organised for your building.
On tile roofs, the solution includes fixings adapted to the roof covering and the load-bearing structure. We choose the panel and the mounting structure together, so that the proposed layout can be executed correctly.
Homes where appearance matters
Cells without a front grid and compact dimensions can help achieve a tidy array. We prefer consistent rows, distributed to suit the shape of the roof. Installed capacity and appearance are discussed together, before the final choice.
How much being bifacial matters
The model can also use light that reaches the rear side. The benefit depends on the distance from the surface underneath, shading and how much light that surface reflects. An open site with a light-coloured surface offers different conditions from a roof covering close to the panel.
On a pitched roof, with little space under the modules, the contribution of the rear side is usually limited. Our recommendation for this LONGi panel is based on its format, front-side efficiency and fit on the roof. We do not add a fixed percentage of bifacial gain.
When we compare it with other panels
For a home with limited space, an industrial hall with a sandwich-panel roof or a ground-mounted system, we also consider the AIKO 650 W. For a mid-size format and a budget-conscious choice, there are the DMEGC options. For large projects, we also discuss the Gokin portfolio. Background on the two back-contact technologies is in our AIKO and LONGi guide.
Nectaria installs in Transylvania and delivers across Romania. You can see the available panels or start from a system with batteries. Equipment can be picked up from our warehouse in Alba Iulia, str. Livezii nr. 35A.
Call 0723 172 359 or send us a few photos and the dimensions of your roof via WhatsApp. We will propose a suitable layout and choose the panels based on the actual space.
